Orientation and Day 1

Previous  Home  Next

(1) San Francisco Marina District, Golden Gate bridge in background. Funny looking bike and funny look on my face. Am I ready or what?

(2) Fort Mason pier bike parking. Everyone brings their clean bike in for Day 0 overnight parking. Day 0 (Saturday) is for orientation.

(3) Orientation includes a 2 hour safety video. It was amazing how some people quickly forgot the safety tips during the ride. Luckily, most all of the riders stayed out of harm's way during the week.

(4) Fort Mason pier, Day 1, 5AM. Ray displays the bagels served to the riders at the pre-dawn continental breakfast.

(5) Day 1, Pit Stop 1 in Daly City, 9AM. Everyone mobs the first food and drink stop. Bikes are strewn everywhere. We have only gone 15 miles at this point!

(6) Day 1, Crystal Springs Resevoir, 11AM. Road is clogged with bikes, but think of the small environmental impact! Next leg is Rt 92 pass over the Santa Cruz Mtns, then onto Half Moon Bay.
