David's
AIDS LifeCycle 4

Days 1 & 2 (June 5 & 6)
San Franciso - Aptos - King City

4 AM. Sleepy cyclists and roadies on the shuttle bus from the hotel to the Cow Palace.

Waiting for opening ceremonies.

AIDS LifeCycle first-timers, Chris and Amanda. Both were worried at the start but finished all 7 days.

Cyclists scrambling for their bikes to start the ride.

The first of many rest stops provided by the roadies. Each stop had food, drinks, and an abundance of port-a-potties.

Fun is key on the ride. Rest stop 4 roadies and cyclists mugged for the cameras decked out as faux Dolly Partons.

A film crew followed us around documenting our every move. The result will air on a new cable channel called LOGO this summer. The crew asked us to "act natural", that is if you are used to having a boom mike in your face.

The eight ball, me, Minnie Mouse, and Dora the Explorer at Rest Stop 2. It was a "children's toys" theme.
