My tentmate, Matt, and I starting off Day 6 in Lompoc. It was a
chilly 50 degrees every morning, or 10 degrees below normal for
June. |

Rest stop 4 roadies showing good form near Carpinteria. |

Recumbent riders all. The happiest riders by far since our butts
did not ache at day's end. Lori Jean in the red is director of LA's
Gay and Lesbian Center. |

Dinner is served! Delicious banquet style dinners of various flavors.
We needed to feed our hungry bodies since we burned 5,000 to 6,000
calories each day. |

The last day was a 60 mile ride into LA. Final ceremonies were held
immediately after the route closed at 3 PM. Above is the procession
of the riderless bicycle, symbolic of those who have died of AIDS. |

Throngs of cyclists filled the parking lot as we paid tribute to
the event and people who made this ride possible. |
