Days 1 (June 3)
San Francisco - Santa Cruz
4:45 AM. Loading the gear trucks with our personal belongings. Everyone is wearing layers of clothes for the cold morning air.
5 AM. I'm visiting my bike in the bike parking area before starting out. Nerves of steel!
6:30 AM. Our first "ride out" from the Cow Palace. Everyone is wearing decorative red & white helmet covers given to us by LifeCycle organizers.
I'm ready to ride.
Team 100 members at Crystal Springs Resevoir. Team 100 raised an amazing $400K. That is an average of $4K per cyclist.
San Gregorio State Beach and bike parking at lunch. You just can't beat eating in one of the most beautiful spots in California.
